Uber | Neighborhood Love
Situation
Before ridesharing existed, thousands of Portlanders were asked to call upon city leaders to change transportation regulations that gave people more freedom. After months of petitions and twitter town halls, ridesharing was finally a part of daily life. After asking so much from their riders for several months, Uber asked us to find a genuine way to say "thanks" while celebrating the city they can now call home.
Solution
To celebrate Portland’s small business climate and incentivize residents to explore new areas of their city, we introduced "Neighborhood Love", an experiential series that offered free UberX rides to neighborhoods that were formerly in a transportation desert. To sweeten the deal, we partnered with local businesses to offer unique experiences that riders could "unlock" with their ride receipt. From cocktail classes to secret menus to backstage tours, Portlanders were able to experience the best of retail in a completely new way. The campaign series was a massive success garnering over 9,000 new riders, 15K unique site visitors and 100K social media impressions and 520K media impressions.
